Monthly Meals for Women’s Shelter in Baton Rouge 2018

WE NEED YOUR HELP: On the fourth Saturday every month, our church needs 2-3 people to prepare food and take it to the Sweet Dreams Shelter for Women and Children in downtown Baton Rouge for their 6pm meal. This shelter is on the St. Vincent de Paul campus between Florida and Convention Streets, just 4 blocks of I-10. All the St. Vincent shelters depend on volunteers in the Baton Rouge area for their evening meals.

Preparers leave Gonzales between 5-5:15pm with the food, serve the meal, and return to Gonzales before 7:30pm. The meal requires a main dish, side vegetable, green salad with dressing (or fruit), a simple desert, and ready-to-eat rolls made for 30-35 women and their children.

Anyone can participate in this ministry, male or female, church member or not. If someone "isn't a cook", he or she can still participate in and important way by driving in or supplying non-cooked items. All you need is a spirit for service, as we begin our 16th year of helping to feed disadvantaged women and children in our metro area.

We need people for these dates: August 25th, September 22nd, October 27th, November 24th, December 22nd.
