Tutoring Outreach

print this page

The Cool Impossible Tutoring Outreach group is still exploring ways to serve our community. The group has connected with Pecan Grove Primary and is assisting with two Reading outreaches in July that teachers from that school do in memory of a special principal. This ministry will continue in the 2015-2016 school year.

Tutoring in the Celebration Center has been sporadic, sometimes up to 9 children and sometimes with none. When the program begins again in the fall, the target population will be the immediate neighborhood of the church. Perhaps the youth will assist in disbursing flyers in the area to make more people aware of the program. With more adult volunteers, tutoring could take place every week rather than just twice a month.

Books that have been donated are still being read and given away to children who attend the Second Saturday Grace activities.

Another wish of the committee is to establish a free community lending library. Plans for building one are being explored. If you would like further information, contact the church office at 647-4678.
